Kevin Durand Cast in Radio Silence’s Monster Feature For Universal
The upcoming Universal monster flick helmed by Radio Silence continues to make headlines as it now has added another big star to its cast with Kevin Durand joining the previously cast Dan Stevens and Melissa Barrera. as Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet breathe life into their modernized adaptation of Dracula’s Daughter, the film is rounding out its cast with very promising talent.
It’s suspected that Barrer will likely play Dracula’s daughter with Stevens likely playing the role of the kidnapper. Who Durand plays is a bigger question but giving him a prominent role such as Dracula would be very enticing to see and I believe he could very well bring a sinister and villainous take to the role. It remains to be seen what comes next for the already promising project.

Dan Stevens joins Radio Silence’s Monster feature
Radio Silence‘s upcoming Universal monster film has already reunited Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett with Scream queen Melissa Barrera. Now, the film continues to add star power as Dan Stevens is cast to star alongside Barrera in the mysterious project that is set to reimagine a classic monster from the Universal franchise which is said to be adapted in likeness to The Invisible Man.

As they continue to break ground in the new direction of the Scream franchise which has led to two very successful entries since taking the helm in Scream 5. The directing duo now looks to deliver another groundbreaking entry in one of the classic monster movie franchises as they will likely breathe some of that new creative life they bring to the table which should be great news for horror fans. The project’s details are still under wraps but is said to have a working title of Dracula’s Daughter which tells a story of a kidnapper who makes a deadly mistake when he abducts the famed Dracula’s daughters.
Melissa Barrera Cast in Lead Role, Dracula’s Daughter?
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are wasting no time in shaping their upcoming film as Melissa Barrera joins Radio Silence‘s rebooted Universal monster film. The Scream franchise alumni reunite with Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett after two bloody entries in the Scream franchise with Barrera making her debut in Scream 5 and most recently taking down yet another Ghostface in Scream 6.
Deadline reported that Barrera had joined the untitled film as the studio looks to continue their attempt at rebooting their famed monster universe of classic horror movie monsters. They have taken a unique approach to their previous plans of a connected universe as it’s said they will focus on standalone films with unique filmmaker perspectives rather than a shared universe. Given the success of Radio Silence’s takes on Scream and also Ready or Not, Barrera’s casting just further elevates what should be a phenomenal monster flick.

Radio Silence to Helm Universal Monster Film
It was announced that Scream 6 filmmakers are developing a Universal monster film. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett collectively known as Radio Silence will develop the film which is said to be akin to Renfield and The Invisible Man. THR reported that the untitled film will have the duo helming the film with Chad Villela producing.
The project was once going as Dracula’s Daughter and followed “a group of kidnappers who abduct a band of young people, one of whom ends up being the titular character. Woe then befalls the kidnappers,” while offering “a unique take on legendary monster lore.” The script will be written by Stephen Shields and revisions provided by Guy Busick.
William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, and James Vanderbilt of Project X Entertainment will also serve as producers on the upcoming film alongside Tripp Vinson. The group previously teamed up for Ready or Not in 2019.
Universal has long had ambitions of creating their Monsterverse and although the Tom Cruise-led Mummy reboot film was unsuccessful, The Invisible Man was released in 2020 and was a box office success. Renfield is set to release this weekend with Nicolas Cage and Nicholas Hoult starring. There’s also a Wolfman film starring Ryan Gosling in the works.

Stay tuned as more details on the untitled monster film become available.
