Julius Onah To Direct Captain America 4
Reports from THR have tapped The Cloverfield Paradox‘s Julius Onah as the director for the upcoming Captain America 4 film that will mark Anthony Mackie‘s first feature film as Captain America since taking the helm in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Captain America 4 will be written by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier head writer and creator Malcolm Spellman, along with series staff writer Dalan Musson who were announced as the scribes with the film’s announcement and confirmation of Mackie’s deal securing his spot as our next Captain America. Plot details are still under wraps but with the wheels turning in the next phase of the MCU, look for the next Cap to be involved in maintaining order and possibly even putting together a group of heroes to take on the next big threat?
He certainly will further embrace his role as Captain America and whether Sebastian Stan joins him in his next adventure, remains to be seen but after their great chemistry in the Disney+ series, we hope they share the screen again. San Diego Comic-Con might be a place where we get more details and announcing who will helm the film certainly points to more details coming.
With Captain America 4 taking shape, the recent announcement of the Wonder Man series with Destin Cretton and Andrew Guest attached, and Jake Schreier taking the reign on the upcoming Thunderbolts film that may have a face or two that Cap and the Winter Soldier might recognize, there’s definitely room for Cap to make his entry point or spin out into his own adventure.
Captain America 4 does not have a release date or production date but stay tuned as more information becomes available.
