Jump Festa brought many exciting announcements but one of the highlights surely was the Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 release date. The release date window was revealed by Junya Enoki, Yuichi Nakamura, and Nobunaga Shimazaki, the voice actors of Yuji Itadori, Satoru Gojo, and Mahito.
Jujutsu Kaisen took the fandom by storm as both the manga and anime series have quickly become a success and one of the most beloved series by fans. The first season premiered in 2020 and concluded in 2021 with its prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 premiering shortly after in December 2021 in Japan with a March 2022 release around the world. The film continued the success the main series and manga had found with the film having one of the best anime box office performances.
Although an exact date wasn’t given, we know we can expect it to arrive in July 2023. Airing through the end of 2023, the second season will adapt two arcs of the manga series with the Hidden Inventory Premature Death Arc and the Shibuya Incident Arc. The series will continue Yuji Itadori’s journey but will also shed more light on Satoru Gojo and Sunguru Geto’s relationship.
The manga premiered in 2018 and was created by Genge Akutami. The manga is still ongoing but during the Jump Festa, a letter from Akutami teased that something was coming to an end next year. No details on what that is we’re given, so it could be something as harmless as the conclusion of an arc or what many fans would hope not to be the case, the manga series ending or possibly entering a hiatus.
