Harrison Ford Joins the MCU as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross
Harrison Ford will be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as he is set to portray the role of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. According to a report from /Film, the iconic star has been chosen by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige to play the role of Ross previously played by the late William Hurt who passed away last year.
The casting seems to be for multiple films with his debut reportedly coming in Anthony Mackie‘s Captain America: New World Order ahead of appearing in other films including the ensemble team-up film Thunderbolts. The lineup of the Thunderbolts was recently revealed at San Diego Comic-Con and is said to cap off the MCU‘s Phase 5. Ford will appear in the film alongside the confirmed Thunderbolts members Florence Pugh, Olga Kurylenko, Wyatt Russell, Sebastian Stan, Hanna-John Kamen, David Harbour, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
This certainly wouldn’t be very difficult to pull off as Ford has been heavily involved with Disney for some time now as he led the iconic films Indiana Jones and Star Wars. Roles which he reprised again in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and for Indiana Jones, a role he is currently in the upcoming fifth and final entry of the franchise.
Captain America: New World Order is currently slated to release on May 3, 2024, with Julius Onah helming the film, and Thunderbolts currently is slated to release on July 26, 2024, with Jake Schreier at the helm.
