Marvel Studios Reveals First Look at Marvel Zombies
Marvel Studios returned to San Diego Comic-Con this year and brought with them an array of announcements and first looks for fans to enjoy in their first appearance at SDCC since 2019. One of the first looks shown was the upcoming Disney+ series Marvel Zombies.
During the panel, Marvel Studios head of streaming, television, and animation Brad Winderbaum was joined by the head of visual development Ryan Meinerding to give attendees a look at Marvel Zombies, What If…? season 2, X-Men ’97, and Spider-Man: Freshman Year.
Marvel Zombies in particular is set to be led by storyboard artist Bryan Andrews and will feature undead versions of Marvel heroes including Captain America, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, and more who will face off against Red Guardian, Jimmy Woo, Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel, Yelena Belova, and more.
Marvel Zombies have been seen in other Marvel properties before including season 1 of Marvel‘s What If…? and also in the comic series published in 2005 that was written by the master of the undead himself, Robert Kirkman. The idea originated from an arc in Ultimate Fantastic Four.
Marvel Zombies does not currently have a release date but will premiere exclusively on Disney+. Check out the first-look images below:
