First Ahsoka Trailer Revealed with August 2023 Premiere Date
Disneyhas unveiled the first Ahsoka trailer along with an August 2023 premiere date for the Rosario Dawson spinoff series. Ahsoka was first introduced in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars in which the character was voiced by Ashley Eckstein. The character then made their live-action debut on Disney+‘s The Mandalorian with Dawson playing the role which revealed an older and wiser Jedi than the young padawan of Anakin Skywalker we saw in the animated series.
The new series now shows new beginnings for the character and a highly anticipated reunion between Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) who makes their live-action debut in the upcoming series. We had already gotten a very short peek at the series during last year’s Star Wars Celebration. We got to see The Ghost and its captain Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). We also know that Hayden Christensen will be featured in the upcoming series. Darth Vader is no longer in the picture and will likely appear in flashbacks that should make for some very heart-wrenching scenes for fans.
The series was penned by Dave Filoni who also executive produces the series alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilchrist co-executive produces the series.
Ahsoka will premiere exclusively on Disney+ in August 2023.
