Fate: The Winx Saga Canceled by Netflix After Two Seasons
Netflixhas announced that Fate: The Winx Saga has been canceled after two seasons at the streamer. Series showrunner, Brian Young announced that Bloom’s story has come to an end for now with the live-action adaptation of Winx Club not being able to be picked up for a season 3 renewal.
The series followed Bloom, a fairy with fire abilities who enrolled in a special boarding school for magical beings of Alfea or ‘the Otherworld.’ Bloom crosses paths with other fairies, each representing a different element, and with their help, begins to unravel her mysterious past and the secrets hidden within.
In his statement, Young broke the news via social media, saying:
“Hi all! So this is not fun news to share, but Netflix have decided not to move forward with Season Three of Fate: The Winx Saga.
This is especially tough because I know how many of you loved this season. It’s a heartbreaking silver lining, but a silver lining all the same. I’m so proud of everyone who worked on the show, and so happy we got to tell the stories we did. Our cast and crew put in a ton of hard work creating this world and these characters. I’m grateful for each and every one of them, and for all of you for watching.
It’s been an amazing four years. Hopefully, we’ll see each other again in the future. So much love. – Brian”
The series ended its second season on a cliffhanger that left many fans hoping to get news on the upcoming third season that would shed light on the reveals and state our characters were left in.
