Euphoria Becomes Second Most Watched HBO Series Behind Game of Thrones
HBO is no stranger to developing captivating series that bring and keep audiences engaged. One of their most recent series, Euphoria has reached a level of popularity that has grown immensely in its second season.
That is over six times the viewership that the season one finale recorded. With numbers up 30% from the penultimate episode in season two, the series has shown an increase that has landed it as the second most-watched series in HBO history behind Game of Thrones. HBO stated that Euphoria‘s season 2 episodes averaged 16.3M viewers across all their platforms.
Euphoria also became the most-tweeted-about series of the decade with about 34M tweets in the United States. It has also invaded other social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and even YouTube.
With seven consecutive weeks as HBO‘s most popular series, the series even caused the streaming platform to crash when it aired the season two finale due to the heavy demand of fans attempting to watch the finale.
The series has given fans jaw-dropping moments and delved into darker themes that have given fans a multilayered experience with emotional character dynamics. This formula has kept fans invested and will keep them hooked for at least another season as Euphoria also got a season 3 order.
The series was created, written, directed and executive produced by Sam Levinson and stars Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Nika King, Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Storm Reid, and Maude Apatow. The series is executive produced by Levinson, Kevin Turen, Ravi Nandan, Drake, Adel “Future” Nur, Zendaya, Will Greenfield, Ashley Levinson, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, and Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein. The series is based on an Israeli series of the same name.
You can check out Season 1 and 2 of Euphoria on HBO Max.
