Emma Stone addressed the rumors that she might reprise her role as Gwen Stacy during an interview with MTV News.
We recently had Andrew Garfield shut down the rumors that he would reprise his role of Spider-Man in the upcoming film ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’ Now, during a recent interview with MTV News, Stone addressed the rumors herself and I am sorry Gwen Stacy fans, but Stone has flat out denied her involvement in the film.
She said, “I have heard those rumors. I don’t know if I’m supposed to say anything, but I’m not [involved].” She then mouthed the words “I’m not” and added, “I don’t know what you’re supposed to respond as an alumnus.”
It doesn’t come as much of a surprise as her involvement would have made much more sense if Garfield’s Spidey was involved so, with his confirmation of not being involved, Stone’s involvement was all but debunked.
So far the only confirmed main cast members for the film include Tom Holland as Peter Parker and he’s joined by Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. Alfred Molina is reprising his role as Doctor Octopus, and Jamie Foxx as Electro. Then you got Zendaya as MJ, Marisa Tomei and May Parker, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson, and Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is being directed by Tom Watts and it’s currently set to be released on December 17th, 2021.
