EA’s Motive Studio Developing Single-Player Iron Man Game as Part of New Collaboration with Marvel
EA‘s Motive Studio announced that it is in the development of a brand-new untitled Iron Man game which is the first project of a new collaboration with Marvel Games. The new game will be a single-player action game featuring Tony Stark/Iron Man and is the first of a planned series of new games that will be developed as a result of the collaboration. The announcement notes that it hopes to bring fans an adventure that highlights the history of Iron Man/Tony Stark.
Vice President and Creative Director at Marvel Games Bill Roseman shared their excitement to collaborate with Motive Studio, saying:
“We are thrilled to collaborate with the talented team at Motive Studio to bring their original vision of one of Marvel’s most important, powerful and beloved characters. Their experience delivering both established entertainment worlds and thrilling gameplay — combined with their authentic passion for the armored icon — will fuel our quest to deliver a love letter to a legendary hero in the form of the ultimate Iron Man video game.”
Executive producer at Motive Studios Olivier Proulx added:
“It’s an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to make a video game based on one of the most iconic Super Heroes in entertainment today. We have a great opportunity to create a new and unique story that we can call our own. Marvel is encouraging us to create something fresh. We have a lot of freedom, which is so engaging for the team.”
The untitled Iron Man game is still currently in pre-production which puts it quite a way out before we are to see the title. Marvel has been making headlines in the video game medium as of late with Marvel’s Midnight Suns making its way to fans and the recent D23 Expo announcing the upcoming Amy Hennig project at Skydance New Media in the untitled game featuring Captain America and Black Panther.
