Borderlands Film Unleashes Explosive First Trailer

After the release of the first look photos, Lionsgate and Gearbox Software have now unveiled the first explosive trailer for the highly-anticipated Borderlands film. The adaptation of the popular Gearbox loot shooter promises to deliver an exciting cinematic experience, drawing parallels to the exciting vibes of Guardians of the Galaxy.

The trailer offers a glimpse into the plot, mirroring the familiar premise treasured by Borderlands fans. Set on the treacherous Pandora, a group of treasure hunters, led by Lilith (Cate Blanchett) and Roland (Kevin Hart), embark on a quest to locate a fabled vault rumored to hold untold riches.

Guided by the quirky robot Claptrap, voiced by Jack Black, they encounter a bizarre and perilous world teeming with eccentric characters and menacing creatures. The trailer introduces series favorites such as Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), albeit with potential deviations from their original game counterparts.

Also jumping into the mix of the ensemble cast are Gina Gershon as Moxxi, Edgar Ramirez as Atlas, Janina Gavankar as Knoxx, Cheyenne Jackson as Jakobs, and Haley Bennett in an undisclosed role.

The film incorporates characters from multiple entries of the Borderlands series, blending elements from the original game and its sequels. As a live-action film, we don’t get the signature cel-shaded look we have come to expect from the games but the movie effectively captures the franchise’s outlandish spirit, remaining faithful to its whimsical aesthetic.
