Tiny Onion Expands into Full Multimedia Production Company
James Tynion IV, renowned writer behind some of the most successful comics of the past decade, has recently announced the launch of a new venture, Tiny Onion.
The company is set to serve as a comprehensive production house, dedicated to the development, packaging, marketing, and cross-platform promotion of new creator-owned work. Lyrical Media, a multimedia development, production, and finance company, has made an investment in Tiny Onion.
Tynion, known for popular series such as Something is Killing the Children, The Department of Truth, The Nice House on the Lake, and W0RLDTR33, expressed his excitement about this new endeavor, stating:

“Now I have the chance to take everything I’ve learned and test out every way to make it work even better. Not just for me, but for the generation of creators coming up behind me.”
Tiny Onion aims to assemble a top-tier, independent editorial and design team, following the successful principles that have marked Tynion’s work in the comics market. Although not functioning as a publisher itself, Tiny Onion will collaborate with various publishers, including BOOM! Studios, Dark Horse Comics, DSTLRY, and Image Comics.
Several notable talents have already joined Tiny Onion, such as Eric Harburn as the director of editorial, Courtney Menard as the director of production, and Jazzlyn Stone as the director of communications. The company is also preparing to unveil its initial slate of projects in the coming months.
Eric Harburn, expressed:
“Being able to support creators in telling the best version of their stories has been an honor and a privilege I don’t take lightly, and is what I plan to pursue for the rest of my life,”

Tiny Onion will manage a significant portion of Tynion’s intellectual property backlist and is actively developing new projects across the film, television, and animation industries.
“The benefit of independence is flexibility,” noted Tynion. “We’re going to develop worlds on the scale of what we did with Something is Killing the Children, and then we’re going to decide how to bring them into each of the verticals our company is touching. It’s incredibly exciting to be able to think and move that way.”
With a foundation built upon Tynion’s popular substack branding, Tiny Onion is poised to become a prominent name within the entertainment industry with numerous exciting projects likely to come in the future.
