Blue Book: 1947: Dark Horse Brings Readers More “True Weird” Tales in Tynion IV’s and Oeming’s Next Blue Book Chapter

Dark Horse Comics has announced the return of the hit comic series Blue Book with the release of Blue Book: 1947, which explores the fascinating world of alien sightings and encounters that preceded the well-known story of Betty and Barney Hill. Written by James Tynion IV, illustrated by Michael Avon Oeming, and lettered by Tom Napolitano, this non-fiction tale takes readers on a journey through the strange and unexplainable experiences of individuals who claimed to have encountered extraterrestrial beings.

The story begins in 1947 when Kenneth Arnold, while flying his Call-Air A-2 over the Pacific Northwest, witnessed a blinding flash of silver light. What followed was an extraordinary encounter with multiple unidentified flying objects, forever altering the course of his life.

Blue Book: 1947 #1 will include six variant covers by renowned artists Michael Avon Oeming, Fábio Moon, Michael Allred, Cully Hammer, Joe Quinones (1:10 virgin retailer incentive variant), and Christian Ward (1:10 virgin retailer incentive variant). Additionally, the comic includes a True Weird backup story by Zac Thompson, Gavin Fullerton, and Aditya Bidikar.

Prepare to delve into the unknown and corner of Tynion IV and Oeming’s True Weird universe while we explore the rich history of alien encounters in Blue Book: 1947 #1 when it arrives at your favorite local comic shop on February 7, 2024.
