Austin Butler in Talks to Play Feyd-Rautha in Dune 2
Dune 2 is shaping up to top the star power that it brought in the previous film as it continues to add to an already star-studded cast. Deadline reports that Austin Butler is in talks to join the sequel as Feyd-Rautha. The fan-favorite character from the Frank Herbert novels is anticipated to carry a big role in the sequel. The youngest nephew of Baron Vladimir Hakonnen, is evil, cunning, and treacherous. He was previously played by Stellan Skarsgård in the 2021 film.
If he were to join the film, he would be joining Florence Pugh, who is also currently in talks to join the film as Princess Irulan Corrino. They both would join the cast of returning stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, and Josh Brolin. Also returning is Denis Villeneuve, who directed, produced, and co-wrote the previous film.
Butler is also set to appear in the film Elvis in which he is set to play the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll himself, Elvis Presley. He will appear opposite Tom Hanks in the film that just recently shared its first trailer.
The film is currently in pre-production and is slated to release in October 2023.
