Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon – From Software Returning to Armored Core Series with New Game
From Software dropped a huge announcement at yesterday’s The Game Awards when they revealed Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. The studio has been delivering hit after hit in the Souls game universe and now they look to jump back into another beloved series they are known for with a return to Armored Core.
The studios notes on their official website that players will have dynamic, fast-paced mech action at their disposal, writing:
“In ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON, players will assemble and pilot their own mech with 3D maneuverability to move freely through three dimensional fast-paced missions. Take on difficult challenges and overwhelm your enemies with dynamic movements that make full use of ranged and melee combat. Players can enjoy a variety of actions that can only be truly realized with mechs.”
The studio unveiled a phenomenal cinematic trailer that introduced us to a gloomy world as we begin to see the mechs rise from the ashes. It was impressive to see the world of Armored Core with the power of today’s graphics at its disposal. This entry will be the first since Armored Core: Verdict Day was released back in 2013 which marks almost a decade since players got their hands on the monstrous mechs.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will release on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC sometime in 2023.
