Kenny Aitken cracks the code for Apex Cybernetic Samurai Owl
Kenny Aitken is the founder and CEO of the newly announced Moonfire Labs. He’s also the creator, writer, and colorist for one of my favorite indie comic books, Apex Cybernetic Samurai Owl!
For those of you unfamiliar with the story of Apex, he’s a cybernetic owl in a futuristic version of Japan that is created as a weapon, breaks free from his creators, learns the ways of the Samurai, and becomes a hero! Apex will face impossible odds as the group that created him relentlessly pursues him in their quest for world domination! Can he defeat his pursuers and save Japan and the world in the process?
After years of being friends, I was finally able to have the chance to sit down with Kenny and talk about what your walkout song would be if you were an athlete, what it was that inspired him to become an artist and a writer, where he gets his ideas from, and tons more! We also chat about how much longer until we will see the end of Apex Cybernetic Samurai Owl (it’s a lot sooner than you’d expect), what we can see from him in the future including his new series Blue Heart Emoji and Moonfire Labs, and any advice he may have for up and coming creatives!
Check out Kenny’s newest Kickstarter project for Apex Cybernetic Samurai Owl Volume One, which is a collection of the first three issues of the series, covering the first complete story arc. This book is packed full of epic battles with ninjas, cybernetic birds, cybernetic dinosaurs and more, all in a futuristic version of Japan!
It will be on KS for a few more days, so click the link, and make sure you help spread the word!
