A Quiet Place: Day One Trailer Reveals Terrifying Prequel Story
The first trailer for A Quiet Place: Day One takes viewers back to the beginning, offering a chilling glimpse into the origins of the world’s eerie silence. Set amidst an explosive action and silent scenes, the trailer unveils the harrowing events of the first apocalyptic alien invasion in New York City, turning the clock back to “Day One.”
This prequel spin-off, featuring a new set of characters played by Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, and Denis O’Hare, revolves around the character of Sam (portrayed by Nyong’o), who finds herself in New York City when the monsters arrive. Teaming up with Eric (played by Quinn) and her cat Frodo, they navigate the city in a bid to survive.
“We have these disparate individuals who collide into each other’s lives, and it is at a very pivotal time for the world. How do they negotiate survival together? What we get is really interesting — and even surprising — chemistry in the characters that meet each other along the way,” shared Nyong’o about the film’s forged relationships.
A Quiet Place: Day One is set to take place before the events of A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place: Part II. This prequel stands apart from the narrative of the original movies and sets the stage for a third installment focused on Evelyn’s story, portrayed by Emily Blunt, which is slated for release next year.
The film is written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, with an original story conceived by Sarnoski and John Krasinski, based on characters created by Bryan Woods & Scott Beck. The production is executive produced by Allyson Seeger and Vicki Dee Rock, alongside producers Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, and Krasinski.
While the prequel diverges from the Abbott family’s experiences, A Quiet Place: Part II offers audiences a glimpse into the initial day of the invasion through a flashback sequence. As depicted in the recent trailer release, the arrival of the monsters heralds a striking transformation on our planet.
