Zosia Mamet Cast In Sony and Marvel’s Madame Web Film

Sony Pictures has announced that the upcoming Madame Web live-action film, starring Dakota Johnson, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, and Sydney Sweeney will also star actress Zosia Mamet. They will star alongside Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, and Tahar Rahim.

The film is set to be helmed by S.J. Clarkson and will be written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless who will be working from a draft by Kerem Sanga. There is not much information regarding the project other than Johnson’s casting that was previously announced.

Cassandra Webb/Madame Web first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man comics and is an elderly woman with myasthenia gravis. in the events in the comics, Cassandra Webb uses her precognitive mutant abilities until she is killed then her powers and blindness are passed down to Julia Carpenter also known as the first Spider-Woman. The events and transfer of abilities see Carpenter become the second Madame Web.

This makes the second star to be making their debut in a superhero film as Mamet and Roberts will both be making their debut with Madame Web. Mamet recently starred alongside Kaley Cuoco in the HBO Max series The Flight Attendant and also previously starred in the HBO series Girls.

Madame Web did recently suffer a delay and is now slated to arrive in theaters on October 6th. 2023.
