Zack Snyder Film Rebel Moon Adds Charlie Hunnam and Ray Fisher to Cast

Netflix and Zack Snyder are working on putting together a stellar cast for their upcoming film Rebel Moon. The sci-fi film has just added Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Ray Fisher, and Doona Bae to the cast.

Rebel Moon is said to take place in a colony out in the distant parts of space. But, when the colony gets threatened by armies of an evil ruler, they send a young woman to get help from neighboring worlds.

Hunnam who made a name for himself starring in the FX series Sons of Anarchy has also starred in films such as Pacific Rim and the hidden gem Green Street Hooligans. Fisher is no stranger to working with Snyder as they previously worked together on the Justice League. Hounsou is an Academy Award-nominated actor who has worked on films like Blood Diamond, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Shazaam!. Bae hails from the sci-fi film Cloud Atlas, and also starred in the Korean series Kingdom. They join the previously announced cast of Sofia Boutella, Jena Malone, Staz Nair, and Sky Yang.

Rebel Moon is set to be Snyder’s first feature from a first-look deal he signed with Netflix after their success on Army of the Dead. Snyder will helm the film which he co-wrote alongside Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. Snyder will also produce the film alongside Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller, and Eric Newman. Sarah Bowen and Bergen Swanson will executive produce the film alongside Johnstad and Hatten.

The film is still in pre-production and is slated to begin filming this year. The film will release exclusively on Netflix. The film was originally a scrapped Star Wars project and has now found life as a standalone project. Check out the concept art below and stay tuned for more updates:
