Twisters Trailer Shows New Storm Chasers Take on Mother Nature

The long-awaited follow-up to the classic disaster movie, Twister, has made its debut with a first-look trailer during Super Bowl LVIII. Twisters showed off an exhilarating trailer that features a new era of storm chasers including Glen Powell and Daisy-Edgar Jones.

The teaser offers a tantalizing glimpse into the highly-anticipated revival of the ’90s hit, showcasing a new level of intensity and devastation. The cyclones in Twisters appear fiercer and more destructive as the storm-chasers navigate through the chaos, evading demolished windmills and airborne powerlines setting the stage for a high-adrenaline disaster flick.

The film is directed by Lee Isaac Chung from a screenplay written by Michael Crichton and Mark L. Smith. The film was produced by Patrick Crowley and Frank Marshall and will star Anthony Ramos, Kiernan Shipka, David Corenswet, Katy M. O’Brian, Brandon Perea, and Maura Tierney alongside Powell and Edgar-Jones.

Twister, which originally premiered in 1996, starred Helen Hunt and the late Bill Paxton in the lead roles of Jo and Bill Harding. Their journey as storm chasers brought them face-to-face with relentless tornadoes in the heart of Oklahoma, offering a blend of pulse-pounding excitement. Twisters is poised to reignite the appeal of its predecessor while bringing a fresh take with the new film releasing many years later.
