A24 released a promo video offering an oral history of the legend of THE GREEN KNIGHT.
Director David Lowery’s medieval fantasy film The Green Knight is an upcoming film based on Arthurian Legend.
For those of you not familiar with the legend of the Green Knight, A24 has released a new promo video titled “Legends Never Die,” and it offers an oral history, giving us almost everything we need to know about the Green Knight.
The video is narrated Ralph Ineson and offers some fascinating information on the history of the legend the film will be based off of.
The film stars Dev Patel as Sir Gawain, “King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic green-skinned stranger.” As you can see, Patel is wielding a badass battle axe. Here’s the official synopsis:
An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, THE GREEN KNIGHT tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to define his character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger. In addition to Patel, The Green Knight features Joel Edgerton, Barry Keoghan, Ralph Ineson, Alicia Vikander, and Sean Harris.
The movie will be released next summer on July 30th, 2021.
