The CYBERPUNK 2077 Next-Gen Version And Upcoming Major Update Will Arrive in Early 2022
CD Projekt Red has announced that the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 are both expected to arrive in the first half of 2022. The studio made the announcement as part of their quarterly earnings update on Monday. The publisher-developer said that a “major update for all platforms” for Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive alongside the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the open-world action-adventure game.
Adam Kiciński, president and join CEO of CD Projekt Red said that the next big update and the next-gen console versions for Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive in the first quarter of 2022 in his message to investors. This is a smaller window than what we were provided with last month in which they stated that the updates had been pushed back to 2022.
The Witcher 3’s next-gen update, which promises visual upgrades and new items inspired by the Netflix series based on the Witcher books, is expected between April and June of 2022.
CD Projekt also has “ongoing work” on an expansion to Cyberpunk 2077. “In parallel, we carry on with the transformation of our studio, which is affecting more and more production teams,” Kiciński said.
With over 10 different patches and the promises from the developers that multiple updates and improvements would arrive in 2021 along with free DLC, the studio has been working hard to bring the game up to the standards that were promised upon its release.
