The Black Phone Trailer: Ethan Hawke is Haunting in New Trailer
Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for the upcoming horror film The Black Phone. The film is an adaptation of a short story by Joe Hill and follows Finney (Mason Thames) as he is approached by a man (Ethan Hawke) who poses as a magician. What ensues is much more sinister than a magic trick as Finney is kidnapped and horrifying events unfold.
Check out the official synopsis here:
“Finney Shaw, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims.
And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney. Starring four-time Oscar® nominee Ethan Hawke in the most terrifying role of his career and introducing Mason Thames in his first ever film role, The Black Phone is produced, directed, and co-written by Scott Derrickson, the writer-director of Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Marvel’s Doctor Strange.”
Starring alongside Thames and Hawke will be Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies, James Ransone, and E. Roger Mitchell. The film is directed by Scott Derrickson who previously worked alongside Hawke in the horror film Sinister. Derrickson will co-write the script alongside C. Robert Cargill.
The Black Phone will premiere in theaters on June 24th, 2022. Check out the new trailer below:
