That ’90s Show Renewed for a Second Season
Netflix announced that it has renewed That ’90s Show for a second season. The sequel series to That ’70s Show saw itself premiere with a 10-episode season on the streaming platform and quickly won audiences over. As the young misfits gather in the basement for more adventures, the second season will come with even more shenanigans as it has received a 16-episode order.
Quickly rising through the ranks and landing in the streamer’s Top 10 list after 41M hours viewed. This is even more impressive for a series that premiered with episodes clocking in between 20-30 minutes. After the news broke of the renewal, Co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer Gregg Mettler shared his excitement regarding the renewal and overall response toward the series, saying:
“All of us at That ‘90s Show were beyond excited by the warm, enthusiastic response to our first season. We can’t wait to return to Point Place for another summer of laughs and surprises. Hello 1996!”
The series stars Kurtwood Smith, Debra Jo Rupp, Callie Haverda, Ashley Aufderheide, Reyn Doi, Mace Coronel, Sam Morelos, and Maxwell Acee Donovan. The series saw original cast members return in guest appearances including Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Wilmer Valderrama, Tommy Chong, and Don Stark.
The series saw Red and Kitty Foreman return to the spinoff series as their granddaughter heads to Point Place for the summer where we all saw her re-ignite the youthful friendships back to the Foreman home that we all saw throughout That ’70s Show. In the first season, we saw Leia make new friends, find love, and in the finale, as the summer came to a close, and many questions were unanswered which I am sure we will see get touched on in season 2.
That ’90s Show season 1 is available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
