Temuera Morrison Cast in Chief of War at Apple TV+
Apple TV+ has announced that Temuera Morrison has been cast in the limited series Chief of War. Deadline reported that the Jason Momoa-led series focusing on the colonization of Hawaii will have Morrison playing the role of King Kahekili, the king of Maui.
Momoa will star in the series which he also wrote and executive produced. The series finds itself in the early stages of development with not many details revealed at this time but again will focus on the colonization of Hawaii and will be told from the perspective of the indigenous population.
The war epic will likely see Morrison and Momoa in key roles for the series which will be great to see as they both command their scenes and the possibilities of these two sharing a screen were phenomenal in the scenes the two shared in Aquaman.
The series was co-written by Thomas Pa’a Sibbett who also executive produces alongside Momoa, Francis Lawrence, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Erik Holmberg. Doug Jung joins the series as showrunner and executive producer with Justin Chon recently tapped to helm the first two episodes of the eight-episode series.
Chief of War does not currently have a release date but will premiere exclusively on Apple TV+.
