Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin Sequel Series Announced

IDW Publishing revealed during San Diego Comic-Con that a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin sequel series was on the way. The hit limited series which saw one surviving turtle on a rampage to avenge his fallen brothers was an absolute hit among fans and has led to the series earning itself a line of action figures and even a recently announced RPG game coming to PC and consoles.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have and will seemingly always be popular as they have been a pop culture sensation since the 80s with countless video games, live-action films, and the most recent animated film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem which is just around the corner from its theatrical release.

TMNT has also found a ton of success in comics and this darker-toned story crafted by Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz took us on a different kind of journey which will now continue with the rest of The Last Ronin‘s creative team also on board which includes artists Ben Bishop, Esau Escorza, and Isaac Escorza.

The sequel series titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin II – Re-Evolution will have Michaelangelo take a backseat as a new generation of turtles which we met on the final page of The Last Ronin. Yi, Uno, Odyn, and Moja will fight alongside their sensei Casey Marie Jones to clean up the ravaged city in a brand new series that could spark the next generation of TMNT.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Last Ronin II – Re-Evolution #1 will be available at your favorite local comic shop and digitally on December 13, 2023.
