Takio: The Complete Collection Joins Jinxworld Imprint at Dark Horse
Dark Horse Comics has announced the latest series to join Brian Michael Bendis’ Jinxworld imprint as Takio: The Complete Collection comes to print. The original graphic novel created by Bendis alongside artist Michael Avon Oeming collects the original adventure as well as the sequel series which ran for four issues.
Dark Horse’s description of Takio reads:
Taki and Olivia are sisters in an adoptive family–and they’re driving each other crazy! Every day, their overprotective mother makes them walk to school together, eat lunch together and play together–they can’t get away from each other!
But when a secret experiment goes catastrophically wrong, the squabbling siblings suddenly find that they have superpowers. They’re the first actual superheroes in the entire world–and it is awesome!
But are the girls ready to face the daunting challenges posed by their amazing new abilities? And is the rest of the world ready for real-life superheroes?
Bendis shares the love he feels for Takio, saying:
“Takio is a true family affair and a labor of complete love made with the same energy and spirit of Miles Morales and Riri Wiliams. I know that fans of those characters will be delighted with this entre into a fun new superhero family. Wait till you meet the super sisters of Takio!”
Oeming continued:
“Inspired by Brian’s daughter Olivia and my wife Taki, TakiO is one of our favorite creations because it literally came from our family!”
Jinxworld has already given us beloved series such as Powers, Pearl, Jinx, and Torso and now we see the imprints’ library continue to grow in this partnership with Dark Horse. With two creators that have crafted countless stories that we all love, this should be an easy one to convince yourself to pick up when it arrives in print and digitally.
Takio: The Complete Collection will be available everywhere books are sold on February 13, 2024, and in your favorite local comic shop on February 14, 2024.
