Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar Trailer is Here Along With a New Dethklok Single ‘Aortic Desecration’

As fans have been patiently waiting for the return of Dethklok. We now have a Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar trailer and the new single for Dethklok which dropped today called ‘Aortic Desecration‘. In what will serve as a series finale for Nathan Explosion and the gang, the feature film dropped an epic trailer that will have fans holding their devil horns up to the sky as we see the beloved Adult Swim property come to an end.

The film is set to get a physical and digital release this August and was written and helmed by co-creator Brendon Small. The series launched in 2006 brought three seasons chronicling the adventures of the greatest death metal band of all time.

The series delivered three seasons of beautifully animated series packed with comedy and music that earned the love and support of the fandom built around the series. There was uncertainty about what would come if anything after the release of The Doomstar Requiem until the announcement a few months ago confirming that the feature film would bring it all to a close.

Dethalbum IV & Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Fans not only have the film to look forward to but to celebrate the last ride of Metalocalypse, Dethklok is also releasing two full-length albums this year. Dethalbum IV will also release in August with brand-new songs and the second album, Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) will release just a few days later compiling the film’s score. Dethalbum IV is available for preorder now and will get a vinyl release available through Mondo.

The film stars Small, Tommy Blacha, Victor Brandt (Metalocalypse), Stephen “Thundercat” Bruner (Grammy® Award-winning musician), King Diamond (KING DIAMOND; MERCYFUL FATE), Mark Hamill (Batman: The Animated Series; The Machine), Kirk Hammett (METALLICA), Jon Hamm (Confess, Fletch; Top Gun: Maverick), Scott Ian (ANTHRAX), Amy Lee (EVANESCENCE), Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), Juliet Mills (Passions), Laraine Newman (Saturday Night Live), Raya Yarbrough (Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem – a Klok Opera), and Livia Zita (2022 winner – Society of Voice Arts and Sciences Award).

Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar will release physically and on VOD on August 22, 2023. Dethalbum IV will release alongside the film on the same date followed by the Motion Picture soundtrack’s release on August 25, 2023.
