SWAMP THING GREEN HELL Brings The DC Hero To The Black Label Imprint – First Look
DC’s Black Label Imprint is set to welcome Swamp Thing for the first time since the imprint launched years ago. DC showed off a first look at Swamp Thing Green Hell #1 and it was well worth the wait as this all-star team of creators is set to bring us a look at Swamp Thing, unlike anything we have seen before.
Written by Jeff Lemire and art by Doug Mahnke are set to send Swamp Thing into a green hell with the three-issue limited series. In a post-apocalyptic twist, we will see a world that has been completely flooded and Swamp Thing is the only one who stands in the way of supernatural forces looking to restart life from square one.
Check out the full description from DC:
“The Earth is all but done. The last remnants of humanity cling to a mountaintop island lost in endless floodwater. The Parliaments of the Green, the Red, and the Rot all agree: it’s time to wipe the slate clean and start the cycle of life over again. And to do so, they’ve united their powers to summon an avatar—one of the most horrific monsters to ever stalk the surface of this forsaken planet. Against a creature like that, there can be no fighting back…unless you have a soldier who understands the enemy. Someone who has used its tactics before. Someone like Alec Holland.“
With the main cover from Mahnke and variant covers from Francesco Francavilla and Christian Ward, Swamp Thing: Green Hell #1 kicks off its three-issue miniseries on December 28th, 2021. You can find it at your local shop ( to find a shop near you, visit Comic Shop Locator).
