Summoning the Spirit Trailer Brings You Entertaining Scares in the Sasquatch Horror Genre

Dark Star Pictures has unleashed the Summoning the Spirit trailer which is set to deliver another great addition to the growing sasquatch horror genre. The film sees a couple looking to make a new house into a home and the trailer reveals what could possibly be two dangers lurking in the rural area of this new town as they come across a group of people with very culty vibes as well as you guessed it… Sasquatch!

The film’s synopsis reads:

SUMMONING THE SPIRIT follows Carla (Krystal Millie Valdes) and Dean (Ernesto Reyes, “American Gods”) as they decide to escape the hustle of the big city, purchasing a home in the remote forest. They have big plans for their new quiet life, only to find something much more sinister.

The couple quickly realize that they are on the land of a cult, and the leader claims a telepathic connection to a legendary flesh-eating beast deep in the woods surrounding them. Carla and Dean are forced to uncover the terrifying truth of the cult’s prophecy.

The film stars Krystal Millie Valdes, Ernesto Reyes, Jesse Tayeh, Isabelle Muthiah, Sean Sisson, Robin Magdhalen, Jasmine Sinclair, and Lacy Todd. The film was helmed by Jon Garcia who also scripted the film alongside Zach Carter. The film is produced by Michael Repsch, Joe Jatcko, and Todd with Carla Berkowitz, Jim Kierstead, William Fernandez, and Michael Rubin executive producing.

The Sasquatch or Bigfoot subgenre has been continuously growing with admirable entries such as Exists and The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Bigfoot. Seemingly fighting two evils or supernatural entities in this film, the leading couple will have to unravel the secrets of this cult-like group they have crossed paths with while fending for their lives against the legendary cryptid.

The film should be a welcome addition that feeds into our love of the long-lasting fascination of Bigfoot. Having already received praise at the Miami Film Festival, Summoning the Spirit looks to deliver a refreshing take on the genre while the trailer shows the film delivering some well-crafted practical effects which always speaks volumes to me over CGI.
