The Nun 2 Trailer Conjures Up Some Scares in the Sequel’s First Look
Warner Bros. has unleashed the demonic forces in The Nun 2 trailer. The film’s first footage takes us back into The Conjuring universe and sees Taissa Farmiga reprising her role from the previous film. The has been in development for some time and will feature a script written by Akela Cooper who scripted M3GAN and will also be penning the sequel to horrifying AI robot child of our nightmares.
The film is helmed by Michael Chaves who is no stranger to this universe as they directed The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It which is the latest entry in The Conjuring universe.
The film’s synopsis reads:
1956 – France. A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading. The sequel to the worldwide smash hit follows Sister Irene as she once again comes face-to-face with Valak, the demon nun.
Also returning for the sequel is Bonnie Aarons who portrays the demon Valak that presents themselves as a nun. If you haven’t caught Aarons in The Nun then you will definitely remember her from her debut in The Conjuring 2 where she appeared to Vera Farmiga‘s Lorraine. Now she looks to haunt Farmiga and the remaining cast of Jonas Bloquet, Storm Reid, Anna Popplewell, and Katelyn Rose Downey.
New Line Cinemas and Warner Bros. have continued to add building blocks to the expansive and riveting The Conjuring universe that follows Ed and Lorraine Warren and has now spun out to prequels and spin-offs including a The Conjuring series that is in the works from DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran. As one of the highest-grossing horror franchises to date, there is no stopping this universe and we will continue to experience these nightmares come to life in all its glory for the foreseeable future.
The Nun 2 will release in theaters on September 8, 2023.
