Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Continues Cal Kestis’ Journey Next Year
This year’sStar Wars Celebration has already brought Star Wars fans a ton of exciting announcements for the big and small screens but now we will get to be part of the action when Cal Kestis (Cameron Monaghan( returns in the highly-anticipated sequel Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. EA and RespawnEntertainment officially revealed the sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order as the popular force wielder returns for another chapter in 2023.
Along with the official reveal, a short teaser trailer showed just a glimpse of what Cal will be up against in the next entry as he and his trusty droid BD-1 look to take on another wielder of the Dark Side of The Force with the reveal of the possible antagonist of the sequel. There is also the big mystery of the character preserved in a tube, what seems to be a man with silvery hair, but EA is keeping those details under wraps at the moment.
The sequel will take place five years after the events of Fallen Order and the press release notes that Cal “begins to feel the pressure of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy.” Along with the remaining members of his Fallen Order crew, Cal will come across new characters, with the sequel also expanding on the combat system of Fallen Order, with Cal’s ability to channel The Force on a deeper level.
Director of Fallen Order, Stig Asmussen returns to helm Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and will work with Lucasfilm Games to build the next chapter in Cal’s legacy. With new technology at their fingertips, they look to implement it to bring players a more dynamic combat system as well as cinematic storytelling to bring a next-level experience of Cal’s story as we see a more mature Jedi in the sequel.
Asmussen says:
“We can’t wait to share more about the game with the world later this year.”
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is aiming for a 2023 release and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Check out the teaser trailer below:
