Star Wars Celebration: Harrison Ford Announces Indiana Jones 5 Release Date
At today’s Star Wars Celebration, we have gotten plenty of news about the Star Wars universe such as the new Andor trailer but thanks to Harrison Ford, we now also have something else to look forward to as he announced the release date of Indiana Jones 5. During his surprise appearance at the Lucasfilm showcase, Ford treated fans to some promotion of another iconic role he has played outside of Han Solo.
With Ford’s introduction by the iconic music of John Williams as he walked onto the stage, Ford talked about working on the new Indiana Jones movie and that it was almost complete.
Decider tweeted that Ford said:
“We all know about what John does musically. What you may not know is the warmth, generosity, the boyish spirit of this man. The most gracious man. The gentlest kindest man, and a wonderful wonderful talent…”
Talking about the next installment of Indiana Jones, Ford added:
“I had a wonderful experience working with James Mangold,” who is also here. “I am really proud of the movie that we made. So I’ll be seeing you around campus.”
The plot details are still under wraps but Ford will be reprising his role and will star alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Toby Jones, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and more. The film is helmed by James Mangold from a script co-written by Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth.
Before leaving the stage and Williams receiving a standing ovation, Ford dropped the news that we can expect to see Indiana Jones 5 on June 30th, 2023. Check out the first image released below:
