Square Enix Reveals New Tactical RPG DioField Chronicle
Square Enix revealed a new tactical RPG during today’s Sony State of Play. The DioField Chronicle trailer showed off a retelling of a war that ravaged an entire region. In a classic tale, an alliance fought against an empire with the empire reigning supreme. A kingdom by the name of Elletain was not affected by the war and has become the Empire’s next target. In the trailer, the player will be in control of the kingdom of Alletain and its soldiers.
Square Enix describes the gameplay as a “real-time tactical battle.” or tactical RPG. You will work to gain the tactical advantage as you control multiple soldiers.
The trailer describes The DioField Chronicle as:
“An all-new tactical RPG with a deep and engaging story brought to life with a stellar cast, mesmerizing soundtrack, and introducing the new ‘Real-Time Tactical Battle’ system (RTTB).”
The DioField Chronicle is slated to release this year on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, although no specific release date was given. Check out the announcement trailer below:
