Spaceman Teaser Trailer Takes Adam Sandler Into the Vastness of Space In Netflix Novel Adaptation
Netflix has released a glimpse of its upcoming sci-fi drama with the Spaceman teaser trailer. The film will feature Adam Sandler as an astronaut lost in the vastness of space. The film looks to bring Sandler to the small screen in a change of pace role showing his more serious nature in the film based on the popular sci-fi novel.

According to Netflix’s official synopsis, Spaceman revolves around an astronaut who discovers that his marriage may not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth. Determined to reconcile with his wife, he encounters a mysterious ancient creature hiding in the depths of his spaceship, who offers a helping hand.
The film is an adaptation of Jaroslav Kalfař’s sci-fi novel, Spaceman of Bohemia. Sandler takes on the lead role of Jakub, supported by an impressive cast including Carey Mulligan as his earthbound wife Lenka, Paul Dano as the enigmatic creature Hanuš, as well as Kunal Nayyar, Lena Olin, and Isabella Rossellini.
Director Johan Renck, known for his work on the acclaimed HBO miniseries Chernobyl, praised Sandler’s performance, aiming to showcase a side of him that deviates from his popular comedic persona. Renck expressed his appreciation for Sandler’s intelligence and depth, stating:
“I really wanted to have a performance from him that had nothing to do with the Adam Sandler we all know.”

The recently released teaser provides a glimpse of Sandler’s character navigating a forest-like setting during a solitary research mission at the outer reaches of our solar system. Accompanied by a solemn voiceover, the teaser alludes to a profound connection:
“Just like you, I fled my planet through galaxies, through black holes, through time, and then I found… You.”
Spaceman will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix on March 1st, 2024. Check out the teaser trailer below:
