Wes Hartman is an incredibly talented creator behind one of my favorite indie comics Savage Sasquanaut, the story of Bigfoot in Space. And before you ask…yes, it’s just as incredible as it sounds. Anyways…he recently completed his successful Kickstarter to re-release one of his first comic series ever, Sky Sharks! Naturally, as a fan of his company Cosmic Root Studios, I was all on board for this comic! It looked incredible, and the story hooked me right in!

The SKY SHARKS are a group of heroes-for-hire and aviation enthusiasts led by Captain Frank Derringer. High in the sky, they live a life of liberty and exploration, as they soar from mission to mission. During one of these missions, they transported humanitarian aid to a tiny desert nation. However, due to Jason Mars’ reckless and daring actions, their mission was put in danger and a potential friend becomes the Sky Sharks’ greatest adversary.
From the start, SKY SHARKS is an intense “DIESELPUNK” action-adventure with a crew of daring heroes, captivating visuals, comedy, suspense, love, and betrayal that will surely appeal to fans of The Rocketeer and Top Gun!
I’m a huge fan of several genres ending in ‘punk, so that was one of the first things that hooked me into this book. Wes’s incredible art was another. The old-school style of the era really turned out well! He said he was remastering and redoing a lot of the art for this book, and he definitely delivered on this promise.

And the exciting story of former military men turned heroes for hire really rounded everything out for me. There’s action, adventure, and even some tale of revenge! Want to know more? Then be sure to stay tuned to Wes’s online store, or find him on social media and place an order!

A jack of many trades, but a master of none, Chris dabbles in many nerdy hobbies including toy collecting, reading comics, writing fiction, reading novels, and playing video games. He’s also a huge wrestling fan, and knows more about it than most normal people should.
When he’s not writing or hosting podcasts for Geek Network, he can be found listening to podcasts and hanging out with his wife, his two daughters, and his little dog Gertie.
