Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111 Review Writer: Melissa Flores Artist: Simona Di Gianfelice Colorist: Raul Angulo Letterer: Ed Dukeshire Publisher: BOOM! Studios
And we are back! Thank you to BOOM! Studios for allowing us to review the next installment of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Darkest Hour. My inner child and I are squealing with delight. No, really. It’s a great sound to behold. No really. Why are you making that face? As a fan of the OG GOAT himself, Dr. Thomas “Tommy” Oliver, there is a part of me that loves that Tommy lives on in the pages of the series that I can only assume brought Jason David Frank great joy.
Watching Tommy fight to save a Green Ranger under Rita’s spell-like himself before? It’s a good full-circle moment. Rita is still on her glow-up, evilly speaking. No longer is she merely a thorn in the side of the Rangers but she’s genuinely causing mayhem. The Morphin Grid has been infected and the Dark Specter is on the verge of returning.
I don’t know why but no matter what this woman does, I can’t be mad. She’s evolved into quite the formidable villain and I’m here for it. The book maintains the urgency of the story without moving too quickly. There’s comradery on every page that has become synonymous with every MMPR franchise.
The action is beautifully drawn, and our much beloved Rangers pop in color. Will the Morphin Grid survive? Will the Dark Specter’s return signal the end of the Rangers as we know it? I can’t wait for 112!

Do I know Sabrina? Sabrina…Sabrina….Oh, you mean her? Yeahh. She’s wild. Homegirl throws solo dance parties in her bedroom. She writes like nobody’s reading…because they aren’t (yet). She is an award winning baker, and has seen every episode of every season of ALL the Star Treks, and Stargates except Stargate Universe because it wasn’t right. Perpetual teenager. 4’11 of sass and sarcasm. She’s obsessed with cats. Single if you can believe it. All around nerd, and just too weird for her own good. AND SHE’S PROUD OF IT?
