The series consists of eight episodes allowing us to delve even deeper into the Scott Pilgrim universe. The trailer hints at the inclusion of more elements from the comic which will make the return of the original cast from the movie an even more exciting pairing as we see them bring life to the characters in new ventures different from the film.
Executive producer Edgar Wright has managed to gather the stars, including Michael Cera, Brandon Routh, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jason Schwartzman, Mae Whitman, Chris Evans, Kieran Culkin, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Aubrey Plaza, and more, to reprise their roles and lend their voices to the animated series.
The 2010 film, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, was already praised for its faithful adaptation of the source material. It successfully brought the comic book visuals to life, and fans can rest assured that Scott Pilgrim Takes Off will maintain the essence that made the story so beloved. Co-showrunners Bryan Lee O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski, along with executive producer Edgar Wright, are committed to delivering another faithful adaptation in a different medium adding to the fandom of Scott Pilgrim.
The episodes are directed by Abel Góngora, known for their work on Star Wars: Visions. And, to top it all off, Anamanaguchi, who composed the score for Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game, has returned to deliver another kick-ass soundtrack for the series.
