Sanction: Mad Cave Invites You to Solve Crimes in New Crime Series
Mad Cave Studios is gearing up to launch the new series, Sanction, a captivating series penned by the celebrated Eisner, Harvey, and Joe Shuster award nominee, Ray Fawkes (known for works such as Batman Eternal, Wolverines, and Black Hammer ’45), and brought to life through the artistry of Antonio Fuso (famous for Wyrd), with colors by Dave Sharpe and letters by Emilio Lecce.
The storyline ventures into the chilling world of a totalitarian regime, providing a vivid portrayal of the character’s descent into the oppressive system they navigate.

Set in Leningrad, 1987, the plot revolves around the discovery of a woman’s corpse on New Year’s Day, prompting Detective Pavel Smirnoff to hand off the case to his partner, Detective Boris Dimitrovich, in the hopes of a low-key resolution. However, Dimitrovich’s investigation unravels a connection to an old, unsolved crime, entangling both detectives in an inquiry that jeopardizes their careers and potentially their lives.
On the project, Ray Fawkes expressed, “I’m thrilled to present Sanction, the gritty, high-impact, never-seen-this-before crime book I’ve always wanted to write!”

Antonio Fuso chimed in, “You know all those crime series you love to watch on streaming platforms? Well, this comic book is much better!”
Sanction #1 is set to debut at your favorite local comic shop on May 15th, 2024 featuring a main cover by Dan Panosian and a variant cover by Ray Fawkes.
