Rich Douek Shares His Breath of Shadows
Rich Douek is an extremely talented writer, writing books for many different publishers including IDW Publishing, Aftershock Comics, Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Boom! Studios, and so many more! He’s written stories for Harley Quinn, Superman, Star-Lord, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Magic the Gathering, and a ton of stories that are his own original ideas including his most recent series Breath of Shadows!
I got the chance to sit down with Rich and talk to him about what got him interested in writing in the first place. We then talk about how he came up with the story for his series Road of Bones and the amount of research he did for that series.
We also discussed writing stories for already existing characters, he tries to come up with something new and interesting, and if the publishers of these characters make him change up his stories, or if he gets to tell the story he wants to tell. We also chat about what we can see from him in the future and any advice he may have for up-and-coming creatives!
Rich can next be seen in his newest series just recently announced by Dark Horse Comics which sees a heist gone wrong when the getaway car turns out to belong to the devil himself. Drive Like Hell arrives this October.
