Quicksand Trailer Pulls You Into the Nightmarish Attempts of Survival for Shudder’s Original Film

Shudder has revealed the Quicksand trailer which will bring a very real nightmare to life for viewers as the original film sees a couple caught in the deathly grip of… you guessed it, quicksand. The trailer debuted at Bloody Disgusting and sees the pair of protagonists on the run from a gun-wielding stranger which leads them to wind up in the pit of quicksand. To make matters worse, the trailer features many other phobia-inducing scenarios such as snakes hovering over the pit.

The film’s official synopsis reads:

“In Quicksand, an American couple, on the brink of divorce, travel to Colombia for a work conference. While on a hike through the rainforest, a storm causes them to become trapped in a pit of quicksand. Unable to move, it becomes a struggle for survival as they battle the elements of the jungle and a venomous snake, in order to escape.”

Quicksand stars Carolina Gaitan and Allan Hawco. The film was helmed by Andrés Beltrán from a script written by Matt Pitts. As much as we love creature features and supernatural horror, these survival-esque horror-thriller movies that deal with real dangers and phobias that many of us share really stand apart as they unloose our deepest fears of situations that we could easily find ourselves in.

Quicksand will be available on Shudder and AMC+ on July 14, 2023.
