Cookie Cutter Trailer Shows Off Bloody and Stylish Metroidvania Action Game

Rogue Games has released the Cookie Cutter trailer showcasing their valiant attempt at the most ambitious Metroidvania title of this year. The hand-drawn action game features a deep and immersive world to explore that is stylish, bloody, and engaging. The press release puts it best as they note the game will have all this and more “crazy s**t”. As you control an android, Cherry.

You will take the lead of a brand-new protagonist that is changing the game by bringing a punk rock and pissed-off lead that pulls away from what you would expect your typical heroine in any medium to look like.

The trailer features non-stop action with guns, blades, spears, and more which showcased a deep fighting mechanic which is just a tease of how big and ambitious this game is hoping to be from the ground up. The mechanic named Raz who offers an array of upgrades to your abilities and weapons is a testament to that and will help you level up your bloody rampaging.

Rogue CEO Matt Casamassina calls Cookie Cutter a hell ride, saying:

“Cookie Cutter is a weird, wild, fun-as-hell ride of a Metroidvania. It’s got all the staples of the genre. A massive world. Loads of insane enemies and boss fights. A twisted narrative. And it’s freakin’ beautiful. But it’s also got a heroine who defies video game conventions in the best of ways and it’s a title unabashedly made for older players.”

Enter the dynamic world of Cookie Cutter in 2023.
