Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey Creators Announce Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble

In an unexpected twist, the creators of Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey have revealed their plans for a crossover horror movie titled Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, set to be released in 2025. Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios are expanding their fairytale-turned-horror-movie universe with this Avengers-esque tie-in movie, because why not?

Director and Jagged Edge Producer Rhys Frake-Waterfield expressed his enthusiasm for the project, citing influences from iconic horror crossovers like Freddy Vs Jason and The Avengers. He emphasized the intention to showcase the villains joining forces in a relentless pursuit to “takedown the world,” teasing the inclusion of shocking set pieces and sequences.

The ambitious project is said to feature characters such as Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit, Owl, Piglet, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Bambi, The Mad Hatter, Peter Pan, and Tinkerbell, coming together in a storyline reminiscent of The Avengers. According to Chambers, the budget for Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble is notably larger as well.

The interconnected cinematic universe, referred to as The Twisted Childhood Universe, includes upcoming films such as Bambi: The Reckoning, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, and Pinocchio Unstrung, alongside established entries like Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 1 and 2.

The expansion of the universe will introduce additional iconic characters like Sleeping Beauty and The Mad Hatter, promising a dark and immersive reimagining of classic tales.

With Frake-Waterfield set to direct and key personnel from Blood and Honey involved, including executive producers Stuart Alson and Nicole Holland, along with the return of Scott Chambers in his role as Christopher Robin, Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble is poised to make a significant and twisted splash on the horror genre.

While we wait for the arrival of The Twisted Childhood Universe, fans can anticipate the release of Blood and Honey’s sequel, Its, scheduled for a theater release on March 26, 2024.
