Orphan: First Kill Trailer Reveals Murderous Look At Prequel Film
Paramount Pictureshas released a trailer for the upcoming prequel film Orphan: First Kill. The film marks the return of Isabelle Fuhrman who will reprise her murderous role as Leena Klammer. The film was announced in 2020 and will serve as a prequel to the 2009 film Orphan in which Fuhrman played Esther, the adopted child who wreaks havoc on her adoptive family.
The new trailer shows Esther reuniting with her family after escaping the Estonian psychiatric facility and reuniting with her family who is beyond thrilled to welcome back their daughter. As you can expect, things take a dark turn when they realize she may not be who she is pretending to be.
The film’s synopsis reads:
“Esther’s terrifying saga continues in this thrilling prequel to the original and shocking horror hit, Orphan. After orchestrating a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility, Esther travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. Yet, an unexpected twist arises that pits her against a mother who will protect her family from the murderous “child” at any cost.”
Starring alongside Fuhrman will be Julia Stiles, Rossif Sutherland, Matthew Finlan, Hiro Kanagawa, and Morgan Giraudet. The film was helmed by William Brent Bell from a screenplay written by David Coggeshall. The screenplay is based on a story by David Leslie-McGoldrick and Alex Mace.
Orphan: First Kill will release in theaters, digitally, and on Paramount+ on August 19th, 2022. Check out the trailer below:
