New Thor One-Shot Comic Striking Down Before Love and Thunder
Marvel Comics has announced a new one-shot comic featuring the God of Thunder himself coming this June ahead of Thor: Love and Thunder. Thor: Lightning and Lament will be striking down on comic bookshelves from writer and longtime Marvel editor Ralph Macchio and will be featuring art by Todd Nauck.
The issue is said to be a perfect entry point to the Thor mythos according to Marvel‘s press release. The issue will come packed with insight into Thor, Loki, and Odin‘s family dynamic that always has its fair share of drama and conflict. The press release also states that the issue will come “brimming with an adventure worthy of the God of Thunder.”
In Thor: Lightning and Lament:
“The Mighty Thor has abandoned Asgard in her greatest hour of need, leaving the Realm Eternal in the hands of his half-brother Loki, in the absence of its rightful ruler, Odin. With Asgard under assault by legions of trolls, and the Lady Sif hovering near death due to a possibly fatal wound suffered in battle, can anyone save the Golden City from annihilation?”
Whether a new or seasoned fan of Thor and the universe he encompasses, this is sure to be a good way to get into the spirit ahead of the upcoming MCU film. Thor: Lightning and Lament #1 will be available at your favorite comic book shop and digitally on June 29h, 2022 with cover art from Ron Lim. Check out the cover below:
