New MOONFALL Trailer Shows An Anxiety Inducing Disaster From The Disaster Movie Master Roland Emmerich
Lionsgate released a new trailer for the upcoming Ronald Emmerich disaster film, Moonfall. The new trailer gives us a good look at the action as the moon comes barrelling into Earth. The film was directed by Emmerich and stars Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson, and John Bradley. The film also stars Donald Sutherland who we can hear narrate most of the trailer in which he explains that what we learned of the moon landing, was in fact fake and that the truth behind the landing was in truth much darker and mysterious and has been “kept hidden for 50 years.” He goes on to explain that this is “something that is “now too late to stop,” and that “this planet has suffered five extinctions. This is to be the sixth.”
So, it’s a disaster movie, but we are definitely in for something a bit more than that from what we have seen prior and this very creepy voiceover from the amazing Sutherland. Whether it’s a full-on disaster film or a creature feature. One thing is for sure, Emmerich is sure to bring some of his best work yet to us.
The film follows, “a former astronaut-turned NASA executive, Jo Fowler (Berry), as she sets off to join forces with astronaut Brian Harper (Wilson) and conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman (Bradley) on a seemingly impossible, high stakes mission to save Earth from an inevitable collision with the moon – and what lives inside of it. On their journey, they will discover that, as they were warned by Sutherland’s character, the moon isn’t all that it appears to be.”
Moonfall is set to debut in theaters on February 4, 2022. Watch the new trailer below:
