Netflix Renews Castlevania: Nocturne for Season 2

Netflix‘s Castlevania: Nocturne has struck a chord with audiences, prompting the streaming giant to renew the series for a second season. Just a week after the debut of the first season, the renewal announcement has come down assuring fans a second season is on the way. The upcoming season, helmed once again by co-directors Sam and Adam Deats, will delve deeper into the storyline laid out in the first season. Season 2 will explore the next chapter in the rise of Richter Belmont, continuing the legacy of the legendary Belmont clan.

Set 300 years after the original Castlevania, Nocturne follows Richter Belmont as the last surviving member of his bloodline. This time, the action takes place against the backdrop of the French Revolution, where an unholy alliance between the counter-revolutionary aristocracy and the Vampire Messiah Erzsebet Báthory threatens to engulf the world in eternal darkness and suffering.

As the resistance fights against the bloodsucking creatures, Richter’s path intertwines with that of the sorceress Annette, who arrives from the Caribbean to seek his leadership. Together with Maria Renard, they embark on a mission to save not only France but also the entire world from the impending doom.

The first season ended with a cliffhanger, as Richter and his allies faced near defeat at the hands of Erzsebet. However, their fortunes took a turn when Alucard, the son of Dracula, made a dramatic return. Providing a glimmer of hope, Alucard now joins forces with Richter and Maria to restore the sun and challenge the all-powerful vampire. Surely given this ending, fans are happy to hear a second season is in the pipeline.

Created by Clive Bradley and written by Kevin Kolde, Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 captivated viewers with its stunning animation and compelling narrative that continues the strong adaptation of the beloved video game series. The returning cast includes James Callis as Alucard, Edward Bluemel as Richter, Thuso Mbedu as Annette, Pixie Davis as Maria, Natassja Kinski as Tera, Sophie Skelton as Julia Belmont, Zahn McClarnon as Olrox, Sydney James Harcourt as Edouard, and Franka Potente as Erzsebet.

Fans can look forward to the continuation of Castlevania: Nocturne when the second season arrives on Netflix. Additional details are still under wraps but you can catch up on the first season on the streamer now.
