Alice in Borderland Season 3 Announced by Netflix
Netflix has announced the return of Alice in Borderland during the APOS conference held in Indonesia. The highly anticipated third season of the hit Korean series will feature the return of Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya, who will reprise their roles as Arisu and Usagi.
The streamer expressed excitement about Alice in Borderland Season 3, stating that fans can expect the evolution of these beloved characters within the dangerous landscape of Borderland. The show’s first season, which premiered in 2020, saw great success, ranking among the top 10 most-watched shows in nearly 40 territories.

The second season of Alice in Borderland, which premiered in 2022, even surpassed Netflix Japan‘s anime titles, becoming the most-watched title in the country. The show has accumulated over 200 million viewing hours, and continues to win over audiences around the world.
Alice in Borderland is based on a manga series that was serialized in the weekly comic books Weekly Shonen Sunday S and Weekly Shonen Sunday from 2010 to 2016. It follows the story of Arisu, a young gamer who, along with two friends, is transported into a parallel universe. In this mysterious world, they are trapped in an abandoned Tokyo and forced to participate in dangerous games to ensure their survival. These games are divided into four categories, each represented by the suits of a deck of cards. Players must win the games to extend their visa, as failure to do so results in death by laser beams.

In addition to the returning cast, Netflix confirmed that Season 3 will be helmed by director Shinsuke Sato, known for his work on Gantz, Inuyashiki, and Death Note: Light Up the New World.
Sato’s experience should ensure fans that the series will maintain its intensity and cinematic charm that has us returning for more. His impressive repertoire also includes TV credits such as Kingdom and the Death Note mini-series. As Netflix continues to deliver with its foreign content, it’s nice to see one of its most successful and exciting series continue on into another season.
