Netflix Drops Trailer for Parasyte: The Grey Showing Humanity is Overrun by Parasitic Alien Race
Netflix’s upcoming horror series, Parasyte: The Grey, promises to be a thrilling live-action adaptation of Hitoshi Iwaaki’s Japanese manga Parasyte. Set to premiere this April, exclusively on Netflix, the series will bring fans a completely original story set in South Korea, directed by renowned director Yeon Sang-Ho.
Sang-Ho is celebrated for his work on the successful and critically acclaimed 2016 movie Train to Busan and the 2021 series Hellbound.

The newly released trailer for Parasyte: The Grey teases an intense storyline focusing on parasites that take over human bodies, featuring gory yet intriguing visuals that are reminiscent of the infection seen in the beloved manga and anime series.
The series depicts a world where parasitic humans, who closely resemble and integrate with regular humans, infiltrate society at an alarming rate, posing a significant threat to humanity.
The trailer introduces an established team of humans infected with parasites, who are determined to spread their influence and survive by infecting others. As the parasitic humans rapidly expand their reach, a gripping battle unfolds as regular humans unite to combat this menacing force. However, the ensuing struggle proves to be challenging, given the rapid transmission of the parasites and the resulting widespread infection.

The series features a talented cast, with Jeon So-Nee taking on the role of Jung Soo-In, a character intricately connected to the origins of the parasites. Throughout the trailer, she confronts the nightmarish consequences of the parasite invasion, hinting at an internal conflict as she grapples with her dual human and parasitic identities.
Additionally, the cast includes Koo Kyo-Hwan as Seol Kang-Woo, Lee Jung-Hyun as Choi Joon-Kyung, Kwon Hae-Hyo as Kim Chul-Min, and Kim In-Kwon as Kang Won-Seok.
Netflix‘s track record with horror K-dramas is certainly impressive, with successful releases such as Sweet Home, All of Us Are Dead, and Hellbound, the latter as we previously mentioned, was directed by the same filmmaker behind Parasyte: The Grey, Yeon Sang-Ho.
Korean dramas within the fantasy or action genres often skillfully blend spectacle with meaningful themes and discussions, hinting at the potential for Parasyte: The Grey to offer a compelling new take on Parasyte. While it remains uncertain whether Netflix’s Parasyte K-drama will achieve the same level of acclaim as the original manga or anime, the project undeniably holds great promise.
Parasyte: The Grey is set to spread its infection to Netflix on April 5th, 2024. Check out the trailer below:
