Live-Action GOOSEBUMPS TV Series Coming to Disney+

Disney+ has announced that a live-action Goosebump series has been officially confirmed. The series that warned “readers beware” for years is returning to adapt R.L. Stine‘s children’s horror novels. The series had been previously reported to be in development in 2020, but the streamer has now officially put in a 10-episode order per a report by Variety.

It does not appear to follow the format of the previous series that aired in the 90s and took the stories and brought them to life, but will instead focus on a group of high scool students who accidently release a number of dangerous supernatural forces and together they must stop these forces to save their families, friends and their town.

There have also been two previous film adaptations of Goosebumps that starred Jack Black in 2015’s Goosebumps and 2018’s Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween. The new series will be written by Nick Stoller and Rob Letterman who will also serve as executive producers. Letterman will also helm the pilot episode. Neal H. Moritz, Conor Welch, Iole Lucchese, Caitlin Friedman, and Pavun Shetty will also executive produce the series.

No casting news or a release date have been announced.
